Styled like an oversized thread spool with a solid aluminium needle, this Spool Table is as whimsical as it is practical.
Lift the lid and boom, surprise storage. Chuck in your cushions, your blankets or anything that you want to keep out of sight but easily accessible.
Available in red, green or blue. Each Spool is wrapped in colour-matched braided cable and lined with fabric to match.
Put it in your lounge, study or bedroom. Put things in it. Look at it lovingly. Just don’t try to thread it through a sewing machine.
Simone begins the design process by creating the very first sketch of what will become the Spool Table.

Borrowing her friend's workshop and tools, Simone starts working on the Spool Table prototype.
August 2016
Using a soldering iron and some printer paper, Simone burns her name and birth year on the top of the Spool Table.

After wrapping the plywood in woven cable and machining a solid aluminum needle, the first Spool Table is finally finished.
September 2016
Seven years later, Simone and the Yetch Team start developing an improved version of the spool table. Pictured is a rig for wrapping the plywood in cable.
June 2022
Weight reduction, added storage capacity, safety and manufacturability are the focus of the new design, and the solid plywood core is updated to a hollow tube.
February 2023
Five complete prototypes and an 84 page engineering document later, the Spool Table is ready to be produced.
April 2024
The Spool Table is finally released in the US. With a solid aluminum needle, 56 meters of braided-sleeve cable and a soft Edison Bulb, it's the perfect practical statement piece.
