SIMONE GIERTZ BIO

Simone Giertz is a Swedish inventor, designer, and YouTuber celebrated for her hands-on, slightly chaotic approach to engineering. She began posting her creations on YouTube in 2015, quickly earning the title “Queen of Shitty Robots” (Wired) for her hilariously impractical machines that did everything from brushing teeth to making breakfast — usually badly, and always with charm.

In 2018, after undergoing surgery for a brain tumor, Giertz shifted her creative focus. Her channel evolved from pure slapstick engineering to a more personal space for ambitious, purpose-driven projects — blending robots, art, design, and storytelling. One of her most iconic builds is Truckla, an electric pickup truck she made by modifying her Tesla Model 3, beating Tesla to the punch and documenting the entire journey online.

Today, Simone is the Founder and CEO of Yetch Studio — a design company that creates unique solutions to everyday problems, with a playful twist.

She has given a TED Talk, appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and been featured in The Washington PostMashable, and on the cover of Wired — all while continuing to inspire a global community of builders, creatives, and weirdos alike.
