EDGE PIECE PUZZLE: BIRTHDAY HEIST ON THE HILLSIDE

When I bought both edge piece puzzles I was wondering which one would be the harder one, trying to figure out which one I should do by myself and which one I should do with my friend and her 13y/o.

So since I have the answer and others might be looking for it:

This one is for sure the easier one. We did this puzzle completely without looking at the reference and the 13y/o found if fun and engaging.

The river-puzzle would in my opinion be too hard for children and also not as fun/rewarding for them as this one, which has a lot more variation going on in the illustration. This variation in Birthday Heist on the Hillside also made it easier for us to find the right pieces and being able to work on different sections on our own. Furthermore we were able to basically finished all the chambers but then together had to figure out what chamber goes where and how everything is connected. It made it extra fun to discuss what both real ants and these ants would value to hide deeper in the ground!

Furthermore I couldn't finish the River-one without constantly looking at the box for reference sake.

I recommend both puzzles and I hope this review can help someone out!

My boyfriend got me this and the river one for my birthday for my love of a puzzle and a challenge and I am loving it ! The details are all so cute and thoughtful and the puzzle quality is fantastic. I will be doing the river one after and plan to frame both for my house because they are so neat! Hope for more one day

We puzzle with no picture so really enjoyed seeing all the little details come together. Lovely illustration but also ideal for a jigsaw, almost every piece has a clue to where it goes, once you've assembled the rooms moving them around till you find where they belong is super satisfying.
